Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines three sets of modifications proposed to the mandatory data request requiring equipment owners to enter generator design and outage details into NERC’s Generating Availability Data System (GADS).
- Add new data submission requirements for Generator Owners with solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities with nameplate capacities of 20 MW or greater.
- Expand the data submission requirements for GADS-Wind to include on-site energy storage configuration data (hybrids) and to capture event details.
- Expand the data submission requirements for conventional GADS to include additional unit level design information to be used in performance analyses.
The proposed updates to the Generating Availability Data Systems (GADS) Section 1600 Data Request have been posted for a 45-day review period. Comments should be submitted using the form provided on the RAPA webpage to gads@nerc.net by July 31, 2021.
