Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at a workshop jointly sponsored by NERC, the North American Generator Forum (NAGF), the Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG), and EPRI held virtually over a three-day period spanning from August 9 to August 11, 2022   Six panel discussions were conducted — each intensely reviewed the process, regulatory, reliability, and commercial factors impeding the timely integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs) in the BPS.

The widespread adoption of highly distributed eco-friendly generation has introduced a series of new BES reliability challenges.  Policy makers, NERC, and the industry are addressing them as they arise and will continue to do so until the transition stabilizes.
