Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the first drafts of the Phase 2 Extreme Cold Weather Standards — a continuation of NERC’s Board of Trustees’ standards development plan intended to prevent a repeat of the 2021 extreme cold weather event in Texas. The second group of updates will enact six of the twenty-eight recommendations arising from the joint ERO Enterprise/FERC post-event investigation on top of the four addressed in Phase 1.
The initial drafts of the Phase 2 Extreme Cold Weather Standards (EOP-011-4 and TOP-002-5 only) are posted on NERC’s website for a 45-day review and concurrent ballot. Comments must be returned and ballots submitted to the project team by April 13, 2023.
