Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines NERC’s latest performance assessment, their third self-analysis since being certified as the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) by FERC in July, 2006. The report cites measurable improvements over the last five years in the streamlining of standards development, compliance throughput, and BES reliability.
The ERO’s five-year performance assessment and supporting documentation was approved by NERC’s Board of Trustees earlier this month. It must be submitted to FERC by July 22; after which the Commission will identify gaps that the ERO must correct, if any.
