Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the 2021 ERO Reliability Risk Priorities Report – a study performed every two years evaluating the top reliability threats to the electricity industry. The ERO has consolidated eleven assessed risks into four Groupings (Grid Transformation, Extreme Events, Security Risks, and Critical Infrastructure Interdependencies) providing a Statement of Risk, Descriptors of Risk, and Recommendations for Mitigating the Risk for each one.
NERC’s Board of Trustees approved the 2021 ERO Reliability Risk Priorities Report earlier this month. From now on, every key committee – including those overseeing standards and compliance – will ensure their ongoing activities are tied to the prioritized risks.
