Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines Public Citizen’s Request to participate as a household consumer representative on SERC’s reorganized Board of Directors once the Region’s bylaws are approved by FERC. They see the restructuring as an opportunity to ensure that non-business interests are served in the normal course of SERC’s reliability and cyber security governance.
FERC is expected to rule on Public Citizen’s request regarding SERC representation within the next three months. If the Commission should decide in their favor, the precedent would be set for them to request Board-level access at every other Regional Entity – and even NERC.
