Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at NERC’s directives status report, the thirteenth filing to FERC summarizing the latest status of open Commission rulings. In it, the ERO announces that two directives requiring the ERO to take action related to BES reliability were closed within the last twelve months, while six were added during the year — leaving eleven outstanding as of March 31, 2023.
FERC’s focus on cyber security, renewables transition, and extreme weather is not going to wane in 2023. Expect them to issue new directives that close security gaps emerging from adjacent infrastructures and which remove barriers to the adoption of new technologies.
