Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at NERC’s petition to FERC asking for an expedited approval of their plan to restructure their reliability oversight responsibilities once the SPP Regional Entity is dissolved. It requests that the Commission’s normal review process be significantly reduced so that SERC and MRO can assume authority over the SPP base by July 1, 2018.
Assuming FERC approves, NERC, SERC, and MRO have targeted a transition completion date of August 31, 2018. By that date every Registered Entity presently in the SPP Region must be fully integrated into their newly assigned RE’s reliability compliance processes.
