Today’s LiveWire Spotlight article looks NERC’s ninth filing to FERC regarding the status of rulings issued by the Commission that require the ERO to take action related to Bulk Electric System reliability. There are 14 directives open at this time that call for the modification or development of new standards, are considered “guidance” only, or relate to data collection.

FERC activity will remain low as the backlog of directives has been effectively eliminated. More are expected to address new risks that have begun to emerge in the areas of cyber security, the transition to renewables, and electromagnetic pulses (EMP).
