Today’s LiveWire Spotlight evaluates NERC’s 2022 Annual Report, which summarizes the critical accomplishments of the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) and the Regional Entities from January to December 2022 and sets the stage for 2023’s strategic focus. It opens with a statement from Jim Robb, NERC’s President and CEO, touting the ERO’s success of dealing with grid transformation and extreme weather systems — the new low-impact reliability requirements addressing supply chain risk and other physical/cyber security threats as equally important accomplishments.

NERC’s 2022 Annual Report identifies grid transformation, extreme weather, supply chain, and cyber security will be the ERO’s key focus areas next year.  But “nimble” standards development stands out as an associated goal that Clients will want to monitor carefully.
