Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at FERC’s Transmission Line Ratings Conference held last September 10 and 11 in Washington D.C. Five panels were conducted during the event addressing the cost/benefit tradeoffs between static, seasonal, ambient-adjusted and dynamic line ratings.
The Commission is reviewing the panel testimony and the responses to a post-conference survey issued by FERC Staff. Based on chronic siting issues and capacity-related barriers to open access, there is a good chance they will direct changes to the affiliated standards.
