Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines the second draft of the extreme cold weather grid operations standards — which act on the feedback from the initial drafts of EOP-011-3 and EOP-012-1. The project team is still targeting an October 30 deadline despite near-universal rejection of EOP-012-1 Draft 1 (78%). However, 70% approved of EOP-011-3; and it needs no updates.
Draft 2 of the Extreme Cold Weather standards and their supporting materials have been posted on the NERC website for a 30-day review period and concurrent poll. Comments must be returned and ballots submitted to the project team by September 1, 2022.
