Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at an ERATF White Paper explaining how system planners will need to address the inability of historical deterministic analyses of available energy capacity to deal with widespread change. The ERATF sees stochastic energy reliability assessments as the means to accurately predict BES behavior as renewables are deployed, just-in-time fuel delivery becomes the norm, and weather conditions worsen.
The ERATF White Paper: Considerations for Performing an Energy Reliability Assessment has been posted for a 45-day stakeholder review period. Comments must be returned in the Excel form provided on the RSTC web-site to Elsa.Prince@nerc.net by April 21, 2023.
