Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at NERC’s findings in response to FERC’s concerns related to the exceptions to the restoration timing requirements allowed in BAL-002-2.  Their analysis relies on DCS data voluntarily submitted by twenty-nine BAs and RSGs for seven quarters beginning on January 1, 2018 – and shows no evidence of a reliability gap requiring an update to BAL-002-3.

Over the next few months, FERC will consider the findings from NERC’s informational filing.  If history is any judge, the Commission will accept NERC’s recommendations to leave the Disturbance Control Standard unchanged – and focus on other priorities instead.
