Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at a newly posted draft NERC Reliability Guideline offering direction to TPs and PCs regarding the construction of requirements for accumulating distributed energy resource (DER) modeling data used in reliability studies.  The Guideline lists the planning modeling data needs by study type (steady-state, dynamics, short circuit, etc.) and maps them to a series of questions that can be directed to DPs so that the best information possible is returned.

The initial draft of NERC’s Reliability Guideline on DER Data Collection for Modeling in Transmission Planning Studies has been posted for a 45-day stakeholder review.  Comments must be returned to reliabilityguidelinecomments@nerc.net by April 24, 2020.
