Today’s LiveWire Spotlight evaluates NERC’s response to FERC regarding the economic, environmental, and policy drivers that hinder the ability of the BPS to withstand or recover from disruptive events (“resilience”). In it, the ERO points out that resilience is already a component of NERC’s definition of “adequate level of reliability (ALR)” which underlies every standard and Reliability Assessment.
FERC is currently reviewing the region-specific resilience data supplied by the Independent System Operators and Regional Transmission Organizations. They will advise the industry on the next steps after also considering extensive feedback from other interested parties.
