Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at CIP-012-1 Draft 4, the latest version of the NERC standard intended to protect the confidentiality and integrity of BES data exchanged between Control Centers. The most material revision to the posting is a new Applicability exemption for Control Centers that transmit RTU readings and Real-Time Assessments from a single generator plant or Transmission station to other Control Centers.
The fourth draft of CIP-012-1 has been posted on the NERC website for a 45-day industry stakeholder review and concurrent ballot. Comments are due back to the project team and votes must be cast by July 2, 2018.
