Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines FERC’s Order calling for each ISO and RTO to submit information that may expose structural gaps that impair resilience – specifically those emerging from market rules, NERC Standards, local regulations, and voluntary initiatives. The Order concurrently terminates the action initiated last October to consider tariff mechanisms allowing resource owners and operators to recover the costs to support electric system resilience.
Independent System Operators and Regional Transmission Organizations must submit their region-specific resilience data in response to FERC by3/9/2018. All other interested parties will be given 30 days afterwards to comment on the ISO/RTO submissions.
