Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines FERC Order 840 announcing their approval of four Emergency Preparedness and Operations (EOP) standards without modification.  This action marks the conclusion of Project 2015-08, which implemented the recommendations of an expert review team who analyzed their adequacy and currency.

The implementation plans for EOP-004-4, EOP-005-3, EOP-006-3 and EOP-008-2 call for the standards to take effect twelve months after the approval of the proper authority.  This corresponds to a mandatory and enforceable date of April 1, 2019 in the U.S.
