Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the initial draft of an annual study performed by the Reliability Issues Steering Committee (RISC) evaluating the top reliability threats to the electricity industry.  It identifies four emerging (high) risks with causes and attributes that are not well understood  – including cybersecurity vulnerabilities, changing resource mix, BPS planning, and resource adequacy and performance.

There was minimal feedback concerning the RISC’s recommended reliability risk priorities document, but it is a good assumption that stakeholders are aligned with its findings.  This means that the priority list will be easily confirmed when it is up for approval in 1Q2018.
