Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines the August 15 power outage in Taiwan, which affected more than six million households for upwards of six hours.  Undoubtedly, it will catch the attention of policy makers in North America, who, like Taiwan, are also trying to manage a major change in the resource mix.

The recent power outage in Taiwan is not likely to change state-imposed deadlines of the North American and European renewables transition programs.  However, this may change if incidents like this continue to occur.
