Today’s LiveWire Spotlight assesses the updates to a NERC Reliability Guideline describing the proper application of the supplemental Interchange process used to tightly control Area Control Error (ACE).  Version 2 moves away from the original purpose of the guideline, which was to assure that the ACE Diversity Interchange (ADI) process does not cause a violation.  Instead, it provides a list of operating principles that best assure the benefits of the ADI program are achieved without threatening BES reliability

Version 2 of NERC’s Reliability Guideline on the Area Control Error Diversity Interchange Process has been posted for a 45-day stakeholder review.  Comments must be returned to reliabilityguidelinecomments@nerc.net by August 31, 2017.
