Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines the initial output of Project 2016-EPR-02, which provides the results of an expert team review of VAR-001-4.1 and VAR-002-4 for clarity and technically soundness. They have rated both standards as “Yellow”, i.e.; they are sufficient to protect reliability, but there are opportunities to improve non-substantive quality or content issues.
The initial recommendations from the VAR Standards periodic review have been posted on the NERC website for a 45-day review period. Comments must be returned to the project team by April 13, 2017.
