Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the webinar conducted last month by a group of software vendors assembled by NERC to discuss the modeling capabilities available on the market to best represent individual breakers in a substation. The ERO hopes to encourage the use of modeling software that provides contingency planning and event analysis down to the breaker level.
Planning entities may need to deploy node-breaker modeling capability if they are to conform with the newer NERC Standards. CIP-014-2, TPL-001-4, and PRC-023-3 require performance analyses that CEAs expect to be conducted down to the device level.
