Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines CIP-003-7(i) Draft 1, which combines two Project 2016-02 work efforts addressing FERC’s directives to strengthen the cyber protections required of Low-Impact BES Cyber Systems. The latest version makes further updates – including an allowance to bypass the implementation of the Transient Cyber Asset and Removable Media policies under CIP Exceptional Circumstances.
Draft 1 of CIP-003-7(i) and its supporting materials have been posted for a 45-day review and concurrent ballot. Clients have until January 25, 2017 to provide comments back to the drafting team and to vote on the standard.
