It locks in the policy put in place by the U.S. President when he took office – disclosure is to take place unless it would harm a recognized protected interest.
Every U.S. Governmental Agency must comply with the FOIA Improvement Act by December 30, 2016. By that date, it is presumed that all information requests to FERC will be granted unless a compelling reason to keep them secret is given.
