Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines FERC’s order to retire PRC-002-NPCC-01, the NPCC Regional standard governing the types and capabilities of the Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (DME). It has been rendered obsolete by PRC-002-2, which began taking effect continent wide in July. This also serves as a reminder to Clients outside of WECC that notifications will be going out in October to GOs and TOs that they have Elements requiring DME
By this time, Transmission Owners and Planning Coordinators in every Region should be almost complete with their identification of the applicable DME locations. Equipment owners should expect notifications by the end of the month.
