Today’s LiveWire Spotlight evaluates the initial draft interpretation of CIP-002-5.1 submitted by EnergySec. They have requested a clarification of Attachment 1, Criterion 2.1 – which seems to require BES Cyber Systems at a generation Facility to be collectively, not individually, assessed to determine those which are Medium-Impact.
The Draft 1 interpretation of CIP-002-5.1 has been on the NERC website for a 45-day formal stakeholder review and ballot period. Comments are due back to the drafting team by September 12, 2016 – votes must be cast by the same date.
