Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at FERC Order 828, which adds voltage and frequency ride-through criteria to the pro forma Small Generator Interconnection Agreement (SGIA). The new rules will apply to a subset of new or substantially modified generating facilities deployed after 10/5/16 with capacities ≤ 20 MW.
FERC Order 828 takes effect on October 5, 2016. By that date, all Small Generator Interconnection Agreements for new deployments or major modifications will include language requiring adherence to voltage and frequency ride-through requirements.
