Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines the initial drafts of CIP-003-7 and the new definition of Low-Impact External Routable Connectivity (LERC). The initiative has been launched in response to a FERC directive which found that the term inadequately described the difference between direct and indirect access paths.
The initial drafts of CIP-003-7 and the new definition of LERC have been posted on the NERC website for a 45-day review period and concurrent ballot. Comments must be returned to the project team and votes cast by September 6, 2016.
