Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the supplementary files that NERC filed with FERC explaining how BAL-002-2 will interact with existing and pending versions of other EOP, IRO, and TOP standards. In it, NERC looks to preempt the Commission’s concerns that BAL-002 does not adequately address MW losses which are near, or exceed, the most severe level projected.
BAL-002-2 and its supporting materials were submitted to FERC on January 29, 2016 for approval. The Commission is expected to issue a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on the standard by mid-year – followed by a final ruling 6 months later.
