Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at NERC’s comments regarding a FERC proposal to require wind-powered generators to provide voltage and reactive support to the Bulk Electric System. In it, the ERO strongly agrees that the exemptions in the Large and Small Generator Interconnection Agreement (LGIA and SGIA) should be removed.

FERC expects to rule on their proposal to remove the voltage and reactive exemption for wind-powered Facilities by mid-year. At that time, the pro forma generator interconnection agreements will be updated – affecting all new deployments.
