Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at NERC’s two-day technical conference held in Alexandria in early October concerning the trends in Fault-Induced Delayed Voltage Recovery (FIDVR) and dynamic load modeling. The participants identified trends in data collection methods, modeling systems, and induction motor controls that greatly affect the industry’s ability to mitigate this phenomenon.
The presentations from NERC’s FIDVR and Dynamic Load Modeling Workshop are posted on NERC’s website. The ERO will continue to emphasize the sharing of data that greatly reduce the possibility of a wide-area loss of electric service.
