Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the initial draft of COM-001-3 – developed in response to FERC’s directive calling for its applicability to be expanded to include intra-entity communications. Specifically, this includes geographically separate control center-to-control center communications capabilities operated by a single Functional Entity, and internal links between a control center and field personnel used for the verbal transaction of status and directions.
The initial draft of COM-001-3 has been posted for a 45 day review period and concurrent ballot. Clients have until November 16, 2015 to provide comments back to the drafting team and to vote on the standard.
