Today’s LiveWire Spotlight examines NERC’s latest study of the reliability impact that the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan (CPP) could have on the BPS. In it, the ERO finds that essential reliability services will not be sufficient to ensure adequate electric system performance within the timelines suggested by the EPA.
The EPA expects to finalize the Clean Power Plan during the summer of 2015. Once the CPP is finalized, NERC will refine their reliability assessment accordingly –a completion date of 2Q2016 has been targeted.
