Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at Project 2010-14.2.2, which looks to retire BAL-004-0 – the NERC Standard governing Time Error Correction – a service historically performed by Balancing Authorities that only serves a commercial purpose. The project team maintains that new technologies have made power system-based Time Correction obsolete, and that the process itself actually introduces unacceptable reliability risk.

The initial drafts of the SAR for Project 2010-14.2.2 and its support materials are posted for a 30-day review and concurrent ballot. Clients have until April 15, 2015 to return their comments to the project team and vote on the documents.
