Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at first of two articles examining the updates made to five Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards in response to the last open directives from FERC Order 791. Today’s article evaluates CIP-003-7, which modifies the requirements for the creation of cyber security plans applicable to “Low-Impact” BES Cyber Systems.
The first drafts of CIP-003-7 and its supporting documentation have been posted on NERC’s web site for a 45 day industry stakeholder review and concurrent ballot. Comments must be returned and ballots cast by January 8, 2015.
