Today’s LiveWire Spotlight addresses the second draft of EOP-011-1 – the NERC standard which will replace EOP-001-2.1b, EOP-002-3.1, and EOP-003-2 after regulatory approval. In it, the project team clearly separates the roles and responsibilities of Balancing Authorities and Transmission Operators in the development and execution of emergency plans – a major weakness in the existing standards.
EOP-011-1 Draft 2 has been posted on the NERC website for a 45 day formal industry stakeholder review and concurrent ballot. Comments must be submitted to the drafting team and votes must be placed by August 15, 2014.
