Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the CIP Version 6 Low-Impact requirements addressing security controls for Cyber Systems with little reliability significance to the grid. It is the first of three articles examining the major corrections made to the ten Version 5 Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards in response to FERC Order 791.
The first drafts of CIP-003-6 and its supporting documentation have been posted on NERC’s web site for a 45 day industry stakeholder review and concurrent ballot. Comments must be returned and ballots cast by July 16, 2014.
