Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the initial draft of PRC-026-1, which will prevent load responsive relays from reacting improperly to a stable power swing. The intent is to push equipment thermal limits to assure that important Facilities remain online during unusual, but non-threatening voltage fluctuations.

The initial draft of PRC-026-1 and its supporting documentation have been posted on the NERC web site for industry stakeholder review and concurrent ballot. Clients have until June 9, 2014 to submit comments and vote on the standard.
