Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at PRC-005-X Draft 1, the initial posting of the Reliability Standard governing the upkeep of relays that can automatically trip a BES facility in response to a sudden change in pressure. The project team is addressing a FERC directive to develop consistent maintenance activities and intervals for protective elements that react to mechanical stimuli.
The initial draft of PRC-005-X has been posted for a 45 day review and concurrent ballot. Clients have until June 2, 2014 to provide comments back to the drafting team and vote on the standard.
