Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at NERC’s GridEx II Final Report, which summarizes the findings from a simulation held last November of a large-scale coordinated cyber/physical attack on the BES. Over 2,000 participants from North American industries, Regional Entities, academia, and Federal bureaus were engaged in a two day table-top exercise.
So far, the effect of the GridEx findings on NERC’s cyber/physical security standards has been minimal. This should continue as long as the exercises demonstrate continued improvement – the next assessment (GridEx III) will occur in Nov-2015.
