Today’s LiveWire Spotlight addresses PRC-006-1 and EOP-003-2, which will become the NERC standards of record governing governing automated load shedding when frequency excursions threaten the BES. When they take effect, Planning Coordinators – not Regional Entities – will develop UFLS specifications, analyze performance, and maintain program databases

Both UFLS Standards will take effect in the U.S. on 10/1/2013 excluding PRC-006-1 requirements R4.1 thru R4.5. Those become mandatory one year after generator data is received in accordance with PRC-024-1.
