Today’s LiveWire Spotlight looks at the updates to three BAL standards intended to tighten the performance of Balancing Authority control processes. This completes the second review cycle for the full grouping of standards under Project 2010-14.1 – BAL-012-1 Draft 2 was vetted by the industry earlier this year. There is a downstream impact to Generator Owners who must supply the resource response data used by BAs and RSGs to determine the adequacy of available reserves.
The second drafts of the three BAL Standards and supporting materials have been posted for 45 day review and concurrent ballot. Clients have until April 25, 2013 to return their feedback and vote on the project documents.
