Today’s LiveWire Spotlight addresses PRC-024-1 Draft 6, the only remaining standard under Project 2009-07 “Generator Verification” to not receive sufficient industry support in the balloting process – only 60.5% in the last vote. The standard consists of four requirements and two attachments specifying the operating thresholds of “no-trip” zones – generator voltage and frequency protective relays must not react to external transients within those limits.
Draft 6 of PRC-024-1 and its supporting materials have been posted for a 30 day review period and successive ballot. Clients have until February 25, 2013 to return feedback to the project team and cast their votes.
