Today’s LiveWire Spotlight is concerned with NERC’s latest posting of the footnotes governing the conditions under which planners may assume that non-consequential load is shed during a single contingency event. This version incorporates the results of the industry survey identifying the number and scope of single contingency planning scenarios allowing Firm Demand to be shed.

Although the project applies mostly to Planning Coordinators and Transmission Planners, Protection System owners may be impacted as well.

The latest versions of TPL-002-1c and TPL-001-2a are posted on the NERC website for a 45 day review and concurrent ballot. Clients have until November 19, 2012 to return comments and vote on the updates.
