Today’s LiveWire Spotlight article addresses the latest output from Project 2007-06 “System Protection Coordination.” They have posted PRC-027-1 for industry review – a new results-based Standard addressing the coordination of BES Protection Systems between interconnected entities in the planning time horizon. It takes requirements from PRC-001 and sharpens their focus to ensure that Protection Systems interact properly to isolate only those components directly at risk due to a fault condition.
PRC-027-1, PRC-001-3, and supporting documentation has been posted for a 45 day review period and concurrent vote. Clients have until July 5, 2012 to return comments and to submit their ballots to the project team.
