Today’s LiveWire Spotlight article concerns the latest version of MOD-027-1 addressing the modeling and validation of high-speed generator frequency response characteristics that offset local system transients and instability. It is the last of five recently-issued draft PRC and MOD Standards intended to increase generator availability to the BES without risking equipment damage.

MOD-027-1 Version 2 and its supporting documents have been posted on the NERC website for a 45-day review and successive ballot. Clients have until April 16, 2012 to return feedback to the project team and vote on the Standard.
