Today’s LiveWire Spotlight is on the second draft of the definition of the Bulk Electric System. This is the latest version of the proposed modification to the NERC Glossary term as directed by FERC Order 743 requires that a “bright-line” definition be developed which captures most transmission and generation facilities operated at 100 kV and above.
The second drafts of the definition of the BES and its supporting documentation have been posted by the project team for a 45 day review. A ballot will be held the last ten days of the review period, which ends on 10/10/11.
